I wrote this post at JFK Airport, after a glorious trip to NYC. I was in the City leading workshops at Columbia University, including for the Executive Program in Management at the business school. One of the participants inspired a Forbes post with their question:

How do you prepare in case you’re asked to leave the company?

The question came from a longtime insurance executive with a steady career path and no red flags. Though they’re probably not being asked to leave anytime soon, the negative thinking can yield some positive benefits.

I cover 3 benefits of doomsday prepping: 1) more confidence; 2) forced creativity; and 3) better choices at Forbes.com.
