Behind The Scenes In The Hiring Process
Land The Job You love
Landing the right job can be overwhelming. Can you relate to any of these job search concerns?
-
- I have answered dozens of job postings and haven't heard back. Is someone, anyone, looking at my resume?
- I thought the interview went well. Why am I not moving forward?
- I had several good meetings. They seemed really interested in me. Then they hired someone else. What went wrong?
When you don't know what employers are looking for, you don't know where to focus your limited time and efforts. You don't know how to fix your job search, if your initial efforts don't pan out.
You need to get your job search working right from the start. The hiring process can take several months, and you don't want to waste any more time at a job you don't love. If you're unemployed, you want to start working as soon as possible, ideally in a job you love.
I got a 37% increase in salary. [My former employer] really wanted me to stay, but I was able to use that as leverage and negotiate the salary. Thanks so much for your guidance and advice – it truly helped me.

The Solution Is Inside Knowledge
RECRUITER, MEDIA EXPERT, CAREER COACH
As a recruiter, I have hired thousands of people from entry-level to experienced, for big brands and start-ups, and in diverse industries, including tech, media, financial services, management consulting, biotech/ healthcare, education and non-profit.
I am a Senior Contributor to Forbes Careers and formerly wrote career advice columns for Money/ Time, Portfolio and CNBC Executive Careers. I have appeared on CNN, CBS, FOX Business and other leading outlets to share career tips and job market trends.
As a career coach, I help professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives make a great living doing work they love. I have been an adjunct at Columbia University for 20 years, teaching professional development topics.
I am also the author of three books, including Jump Ship: Career Change - 10 Steps To Starting A New Career.
I have been on the employer's side of the hiring process, writing the job postings, screening the resumes, interviewing the candidates, and negotiating the offers, and now I share that behind the scenes knowledge with you.
There is often a disconnect between how employers hire and how job seekers look for a job:
-
- Job seekers rely too much on resumes - recruiters spend 6-7 seconds on average reading resumes
-
- Job seekers think interviews are all about their qualifications - employers care about "fit" and "executive presence" not just skills and experience
-
- Job seekers spend too much time on activities that don't lead to jobs - most jobs are in a "hidden job market"

You Need A Better Way To Land The Job That You Love
The best job search is:
Comprehensive - you cover all your bases, taking the specific actions you need to get noticed and hired;
Thoughtful - you go after the career you truly want, not just what happens to be available; and
Proactive - you are in control of the hiring process, not waiting for a recruiter or employer to come find you.
If you could apply a Comprehensive, Thoughtful and Proactive approach to your job search, you would:
-
- Increase your hiring chances, as you appeal to what recruiters are looking for;
- Speed up your job search, as you stop spinning your wheels and focus on what matters;
- Earn more money, as you land a job faster and start earning again or land a better job that pays more;
- Love your job again, as you land a job that fits your interests, strengths and priorities.
Working through the process of changing jobs was overwhelming, but you were a terrific sounding board. You understood my business, knew the players and gave me actionable advice. Working with you I was able to focus on the steps necessary to clearly define my goals and work my options. Now I'm on my way -- this is not the end destination – just the beginning.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does the course work?
The course is delivered via webinar. It is only available to registered users, so a username and password will be required.
How much time will the course take?
Each lesson ranges from 5-20 minutes, and there are 48 total lessons. That said, the course provides information for you to apply to your job search. A comprehensive, thoughtful and proactive job search can be a job in itself. You should be prepared to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week on your job search, and ideally 20 hours or more.
Why should I buy this course instead of using the free career advice out there?
There is plenty of free career advice available in books and blogs. I have written three career-related books and write about job search regularly in various blogs. However, unlike this course which shares a job search approach from start-to-finish, the various career books and blogs cover different topics in no particular order or structure. You would have to curate through lots of material and know what you are looking for.
Is there live coaching with this product?
This product has been previously recorded, and you take the lessons at your own pace. When we initially released the course, we offered live Q&A calls for the first group of participants, and these Q&A recordings are included with the course. There are over 50 questions covered, including an index of all questions so you can more easily find what you need.
Do I have to complete the course by a certain deadline?
The course can be viewed from start-to-finish in under six hours, though it will take longer than that to implement all the steps. The faster you consume the content and apply it, the sooner you’ll be on your way to landing a job you love. However, you have up to one year to access the lessons.
Is this course only for people looking for specific types of jobs?
The course applies to a wide variety of industries and roles, from entry-level to experienced. That said, there are some jobs with very specific application requirements and norms. For example, landing an acting job requires a specialized resume and an audition process that is quite different from the interview process. If you are going after a very specialized job with unique hiring criteria, you will be better served with a customized job search plan for that field (in the case of acting, this could mean working with an acting coach who specializes in auditions).
What if I have questions?
If you have a question for Customer Support (e.g., accessing the content, billing), please email scott [at] cenizalevine.com.
If you have a question about your career or would like to dive deeper than the course material, consider joining my Dream Career Club, where you get access to many more job search resources, as well as regular hot seat and Q&A calls where you can ask your specific job search questions.
Do I have to complete the course in order?
The course is set up so you can access any Module at any time. If you are starting your job search from scratch, then starting the course from the first Module onward is recommended. However, if you are already active in your search, you should start with the stage most relevant to where you are. If you are interviewing already, you should start with the Interviewing lessons to make sure you're prepared for your current activities. However, you will need the earlier lessons if your current interviews don't lead to a job offer and you need to add more leads to your job search.
Do you have a money back guarantee?
Yes! You get a 14 day money back guarantee. Use the course for 14 days and get a refund if you are unhappy for any reason. The risk is 100% on me for you to be satisfied with the course or you get your money back.
Will this course get me a job?
Getting a job is ultimately about the action you take, not just the information you learn. This course will give you the information you need to launch a thorough job search but you still need to apply the strategies and tips to your search. That said, the testimonials you read here are just some of the many job seekers who have worked with me and landed a job they love.
Does this work for job seekers outside of the US?
This job search approach is based on my work in 20+ year career as a recruiter and career coach in the US. That said, I have coached international job seekers and have taught many international students in my university classes. The strategies and tips covered in this course are applicable to job search both in the US and outside. However, you would need to customize to the culture and norms of where you are looking for a job.
What if I still have more questions?
If you have any additional questions, you can get in touch with me here.
Caroline helped me develop my responses so that I had an answer for any possible question thrown at me during the interview. In previous interviews, I was always very hesitant after a question was asked. I needed to take time to think of an answer. After coaching with SixFigureStart, my interview with [Big Four Audit Firm] went very smoothly and I had great answers for everything asked. Without her help I do not think I could have received the [Big Four Audit Firm] offer.
